01 — Practice

What we do

A narrow practice, deliberately. We do four things, and we do them for principals and institutions facing consequence.

01

Crisis Communications

Rapid-response strategy for the first hours that shape the next six months.

02

Reputation Defense

Long-horizon protection and restoration for clients navigating complex challenges and sustained public scrutiny.

03

Strategic Narrative

Judgment-driven positioning—deciding what to say, what to hold back, and when to put the right voices forward.

04

Media Relations

Direct, deliberate engagement with reporters and editors; relationships are paramount.

More than pretty PowerPoint decks — Fast Castle brings structure, judgment, and restraint for moments that demand clarity, rather than noise.

02 — Founder

Two decades in the room where the pressure lives.

Over a two-decade career, Tom Mitchell has helped people and institutions survive their worst moments.

He has managed crises that matter — from playing offense against Mayor Bob Filner's sexual harassment scandal in San Diego to playing defense during former Congressman George Santos' congressional ethics crisis on Capitol Hill.

Tom has worked across federal, state, and local campaigns; Capitol Hill; Fortune 500 companies; and major trade associations. Through it all, he has learned one thing: when credibility is under siege, rushing to action makes the situation worse.

People and institutions facing genuine crises don't need greater visibility. They need judgment, restraint, and a healthy dose of empathy.

Tom founded Fast Castle around a simple idea: in high-pressure environments, empathy, clarity, and discipline matter more than noise. Reputation is built and repaired over time — through sound judgment, consistency, and the ability to deliver when it counts.
